Last updated: November 2026
Yes, Morrisons sells magnesium glycinate. When we checked its website in November 2026, it listed Vitawell Magnesium capsules: two give 1,000mg of magnesium glycinate, which provides 200mg of magnesium. Morrisons’ own brand sells Magnesium 375mg tablets (oxide), and the range also includes a 3 in 1 complex, gummies, drinks and bath salts.
Facts come from Morrisons’ own website and labels, checked on 1 November 2026. Evopure isn’t sold by or connected with Morrisons, and we don’t rate or review other brands.

Two products on the Morrisons website contain glycinate, listed in the ingredients as magnesium bisglycinate:
- Vitawell Magnesium (120 capsules, in a pouch): two capsules give 1,000mg of magnesium glycinate, providing 200mg of magnesium (53% NRV). The only other ingredients are a vegetable capsule shell and two anti-caking agents. Labelled vegan, for adults and children over 12, two a day with food.
- Vitfix Magnesium 3 in 1 Complex (60 capsules): two capsules give 1,000mg of bisglycinate, 412mg of citrate and 400mg of malate, providing 384mg of magnesium. Labelled for adult use only and suitable for vegans.
Glycinate and bisglycinate usually mean the same thing; our bisglycinate guide explains the names, and the magnesium glycinate guide covers what the research says. For blends, see magnesium complex explained.
Label maths: 1000mg isn’t 1000mg of magnesium
The big number on a label is often the weight of the whole compound, such as magnesium glycinate. What counts is the elemental magnesium:
| Product (daily serving) | Compound on the label | Elemental magnesium |
|---|---|---|
| Vitawell Magnesium (2 capsules) | 1,000mg glycinate | 200mg (53% NRV) |
| Vitfix 3 in 1 (2 capsules) | 1,812mg of three compounds | 384mg (102% RI) |
| Morrisons 375mg (1 tablet) | Oxide (weight not given) | 375mg (100% RI) |
So in the Vitawell capsules, magnesium is about a fifth of the glycinate’s weight; the rest is glycine. Oxide packs far more magnesium into a tablet, but packing it in isn’t the same as absorbing it: a US lab study measured only about 4% of oxide absorbed, and in a 60-day UK trial in 46 healthy adults, citrate raised blood magnesium more than an amino-acid chelate or oxide. See magnesium oxide, magnesium citrate and glycinate vs citrate vs threonate.
Morrisons magnesium tablets
- Morrisons Magnesium 375mg (45 tablets): the own-brand tablet, magnesium oxide, one a day with food for adults and children over 12. Labelled suitable for vegetarians.
- Vitfix Magnesium 375mg (30 tablets): magnesium oxide, one tablet a day with food, for adult use only.
- Vitabiotics Ultra Magnesium (60 tablets): magnesium hydroxide, two tablets a day with your main meal. Not suitable for children; ask your doctor or pharmacist first if you have epilepsy or are under medical supervision. See our Vitabiotics Ultra Magnesium guide.
- Vitfix Magnesium Effervescent Citrus (20): magnesium carbonate with sweeteners, one tablet a day dissolved in 200ml of water, adults only.
No health claim linking magnesium to sleep is authorised in the UK. A 2021 review of three trials in 151 older adults rated the evidence low to very low quality, and a 2025 trial of 250mg of magnesium bisglycinate a day in 155 adults with poor sleep found a small effect on insomnia scores. More in magnesium for sleep.
Morrisons magnesium gummies and drinks
- Vitabiotics Ultra Magnesium Gummies (60): magnesium citrate and vitamin B6, 300mg of magnesium in two gummies with your main meal. Not suitable for children under 12; the label lists sucrose and glucose syrup.
- Vitawell Magnesium Citrate Gummies (60): strawberry flavour, 170mg in two gummies, for adults and children over 12. Glucose syrup is the first ingredient.
- Get More Vits Magnesium drink (1 litre): spring water with magnesium citrate and chloride, 187mg of magnesium in a 500ml serving, sweetened with sucralose.
- Goodrays Magnesium (4 x 330ml cans): a sparkling drink with magnesium citrate, lion’s mane and vitamin D; Morrisons’ description lists 200mg of magnesium.

Morrisons magnesium spray, bath salts and Milk of Magnesia
We found no magnesium spray: a search for “magnesium spray” returned only a Deep Heat Magnesium Massage Balm (50ml), with no ingredients given online. For the bath, Morrisons listed:
- Westlab Epsom Bath Salt (1kg): one ingredient, magnesium sulfate. The pack says 1 to 4 cups in a warm bath for at least 20 minutes.
- Westlab Magnesium Flakes Bath Soak (800g): magnesium chloride (as the hexahydrate).
- Feather and Down Magnesium Sleep Salts (500g): magnesium sulfate with lavender and chamomile oils and fragrance.
These go on your skin, and a 2017 review concluded that absorbing magnesium through the skin is scientifically unsupported. See Epsom salt baths, magnesium flakes and magnesium spray.
iMilk of Magnesia (190ml) is a different thing: a medicine, magnesium hydroxide, used for indigestion, heartburn and constipation. It isn’t a magnesium supplement. Read the leaflet and ask a pharmacist if you’re unsure.
Where Evopure fits
We sell online, direct. These are different products, not swaps:
- Magnesium Glycinate Sleep Complex: a berry drink powder with magnesium bisglycinate and citrate (148mg of magnesium per serving), glycine, L-theanine, chamomile, passionflower, hops and oat straw. Magnesium contributes to a reduction of tiredness and fatigue and to normal psychological function. Subscribe and Save works out cheaper per serving.
- Reishi Mushroom Adaptogenic Complex: a reishi hot chocolate with cocoa and maca. It contains a little natural caffeine.
- Sleep CBD Oil: broad spectrum CBD with 0% THC, plus passion flower and a terpene blend led by myrcene. CBD isn’t a treatment for sleep problems. If you take any regular medicines, check with your GP or pharmacist first.
The FSA’s 10mg a day figure is precautionary advice rather than a legal limit, set while longer-term safety research continues. At Evopure we think it is a very cautious figure, and many adults use more. If you go above it, increase slowly, and check with your GP or pharmacist first if you take any medication.
All three are vegan and made in the UK, for adults (18+) only. We don’t recommend our products during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
How much a day, and who should check first
The NHS says adults aged 19 to 64 need 300mg of magnesium a day (men) or 270mg a day (women), most of which you should get from food. It adds that 400mg or less a day from supplements is unlikely to cause any harm, and that more than 400mg for a short time can cause diarrhoea.
Add up everything you take. The Vitfix 3 in 1 (384mg) and the Vitabiotics gummies (300mg) together would be 684mg. If you take medication, have a medical condition or are pregnant, ask a pharmacist or GP first. Several products are labelled for children over 12; ask a GP or pharmacist before giving any supplement to a child (ours are for adults only), and see magnesium for kids.
