What’s in Bettervits Magnesium Complex?

The nutrition panel on the product page gives these amounts for two capsules:

The full ingredients list is magnesium glycinate, magnesium malate, magnesium citrate, a HPMC capsule shell, brown rice flour, magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide, zinc ascorbate monohydrate, zinc citrate and cholecalciferol (vitamin D3). The FAQ says it is vegetarian but not vegan, and free from gluten, dairy and lactose. Bettervits suggests two capsules a day, morning or night, with food.

The label maths: magnesium, zinc and D3

• Magnesium: 225mg is the magnesium itself (60% of the 375mg reference value on UK labels). The NHS says adults need 300mg (men) or 270mg (women) a day, mostly from food, so two capsules are about 75% and 83% of those figures (our sums), and under the 400mg a day the NHS gives for supplements.
• The split: the label doesn’t give the weight of each compound or how the 225mg divides between them. Ingredients are listed by weight, and glycinate comes first. For a capsule with the same three forms that does show compound weights, see Nutrition Geeks Magnesium Glycinate 3-in-1.
• Zinc: 7.5mg. The NHS says don’t take more than 25mg of zinc a day from supplements unless a doctor advises it.
• Vitamin D3: 25 micrograms. The NHS suggests 10 micrograms a day in autumn and winter and says adults shouldn’t take more than 100 micrograms a day, so count any separate vitamin D or multivitamin too.

Where Evopure fits

The FSA’s 10mg a day figure is precautionary advice rather than a legal limit, set while longer-term safety research continues. At Evopure we think it is a very cautious figure, and many adults use more. If you go above it, increase slowly, and check with your GP or pharmacist first if you take any medication.

Who should check first

The NHS says taking more than 400mg of magnesium for a short time can cause diarrhoea, so add up every product you take, including multivitamins. Ask your GP or pharmacist before taking magnesium if you have kidney disease or take antibiotics, alendronic acid, levothyroxine or other regular medicines. Buying Bettervits and where to read reviews

• Where: bettervits.co.uk ships within the UK only and says orders are dispatched within one working day. Its store locator lists 460 stockists, and Holland and Barrett listed the Magnesium Complex online when we checked. Compare the Holland and Barrett magnesium shelf.
• Gummies: we found no Bettervits magnesium gummy on its UK site in November 2026; the Magnesium Complex was its only magnesium product.
• Reviews: the product page and the Bettervits reviews page show customer reviews. We don’t quote reviews or give scores.
• The company: the site footer names BetterCo Ltd, Edinburgh. Companies House lists BetterCo Ltd (SC693954) as active, incorporated in March 2021. A separate US site, bettervits.com, says it is a US company registered in Raleigh, North Carolina.
• ASA: in July 2022 the ASA upheld a complaint that paid search ads from BetterCo Ltd t/a BetterVits and Clinical Reviews, leading to supplement review pages, didn’t make their commercial intent clear (ruling). In September 2025 it upheld complaints about health claims in an Instagram ad for BetterVits LLC’s vitamin D supplement (ruling).
