Yes, Home Bargains sells magnesium glycinate. When we checked its website in November 2026, it listed Vitawell Magnesium Glycinate Capsules: two capsules give 1,000mg of magnesium glycinate, which provides 200mg of magnesium. It also sold a 5in1 magnesium complex, a 375mg magnesium and B6 tablet, magnesium sprays and bath salts.
Everything below comes from Home Bargains’ own website and labels, checked on 1 November 2026. Evopure isn’t connected with Home Bargains, and we don’t rate or review other brands.
What magnesium does Home Bargains sell?
A search for “magnesium” on the Home Bargains website returned 12 products. These are the ones you swallow, with the magnesium each gives a day according to its label:
| Product | Magnesium form | Magnesium a day | Serving |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vitawell Magnesium Glycinate (60 capsules) | Glycinate | 200mg | 2 capsules |
| Health and Wellbeing Magnesium Complex 5in1 (60 capsules) | Oxide, glycinate, malate, ascorbate, citrate | 400mg | 2 capsules |
| Revitalise Healthcare+ Magnesium and Vitamin B6 (90) | Oxide | 375mg | 1 a day |
| Vit Direct Zinc and Magnesium Plus Vitamin B6 (90) | Oxide, citrate | Not given online | Check the pack |
| Protein Dynamix Creatine + Magnesium Powder | Sea-mineral magnesium | 200mg | 7g scoop |
The Vit Direct Advanced Multi Vitamin also lists 40mg of magnesium per capsule. The rest were sprays, bath salts and sports drinks; we found no magnesium gummies. Stock varies by shop, so treat this as a snapshot. For what each form means, see the types of magnesium.

The one plain glycinate on the website is Vitawell Magnesium Glycinate Capsules 60s, sold as “Magnesium glycinate 1000mg”. Its label lists:
- Per 2 capsules: 1,000mg of magnesium glycinate, providing 200mg of magnesium (53% NRV, the nutrient reference value).
- Ingredients: magnesium glycinate, a vegetable capsule shell (HPMC) and two anti-caking agents. Nothing else.
- Pack: 60 capsules, so about 30 days at two a day. It is labelled vegan friendly.
The 5in1 complex also contains glycinate (300mg of it, listed as bisglycinate in the ingredients), but alongside four other forms, so it isn’t a glycinate supplement as such. Glycinate and bisglycinate usually mean the same thing; our bisglycinate guide explains the names, and the magnesium glycinate guide covers what the research says.
Label maths: 1000mg isn’t 1000mg of magnesium
Magnesium in a supplement is always bound to a partner, such as glycine or citric acid. The big number on the front is often the weight of that whole compound. What counts is the elemental magnesium, the magnesium itself:
| Product (daily serving) | Compound on the label | Elemental magnesium |
|---|---|---|
| Vitawell Glycinate (2 capsules) | 1,000mg glycinate | 200mg (53% NRV) |
| 5in1 Complex (2 capsules) | 1,468mg of five compounds | 400mg (106% RI) |
| Revitalise Magnesium and B6 (1 a day) | Oxide (weight not given) | 375mg (100% NRV) |
| Creatine + Magnesium (7g) | Sea-mineral magnesium | 200mg (53% RI) |
So in the Vitawell capsules, magnesium is about a fifth of the glycinate’s weight; the rest is glycine. That’s why glycinate needs two capsules, while oxide packs 375mg into one tablet (though less of it is absorbed, see below).
The 5in1 complex and the magnesium tablets
- Health and Wellbeing Magnesium Complex 5in1: two capsules give 368mg of oxide, 300mg each of glycinate, malate and ascorbate, and 200mg of citrate, providing 400mg of magnesium, plus 1.4mg of vitamin B6. The label says adults, two capsules a day with food. More in magnesium complex explained and 12 in 1 magnesium complexes.
- Revitalise Healthcare+ Magnesium and Vitamin B6: the label gives TJ Morris Ltd, the company behind Home Bargains, as the maker. One a day gives 375mg of magnesium from magnesium oxide, plus 1.4mg of B6, for adults and children over 12.
- Vit Direct Zinc and Magnesium Plus Vitamin B6: magnesium oxide and citrate with three zinc forms, in a beef gelatine capsule, so it isn’t vegetarian. The website gives no amounts and says not suitable for under 18s.
Oxide is the least absorbed of the common forms: a US lab study measured only about 4% of oxide absorbed. In a 60-day UK trial in 46 healthy adults, citrate raised blood magnesium more than an amino-acid chelate or oxide. See magnesium oxide and magnesium citrate, or compare them in glycinate vs citrate vs threonate.
Home Bargains magnesium spray and Epsom salts
- Anovia Magnesium Sleep Spray (200ml): water, magnesium chloride hexahydrate (40%) and lavender oil, among other ingredients.
- Anovia Magnesium Muscle and Joint Spray (200ml): magnesium chloride hexahydrate (40%) with aloe and fragrance.
- Westlab bath salts: a Magnesium Replenishing Bath Salt, an Epsom Muscle Soak (magnesium sulphate) and two scented Epsom blends, all 1kg.
These go on your skin, not in your mouth. A 2017 review concluded that absorbing magnesium through the skin is scientifically unsupported. See our guides to magnesium spray, magnesium cream and BetterYou flakes and sprays.
Where Evopure fits
We sell online, direct. These are different products, not like-for-like swaps:
- Magnesium Glycinate Sleep Complex: a berry drink powder with magnesium bisglycinate and citrate (148mg of magnesium per serving), glycine, L-theanine, chamomile, passionflower, hops and oat straw. Magnesium contributes to a reduction of tiredness and fatigue and to normal psychological function. Subscribe and Save works out cheaper per serving, and you can skip, pause or cancel any time.
- Reishi Mushroom Adaptogenic Complex: a reishi hot chocolate with cocoa, reishi mushroom, maca, cinnamon and coconut sugar. It contains a little natural caffeine.
- Sleep CBD Oil: broad spectrum CBD with 0% THC, plus passion flower and a terpene blend led by myrcene. CBD isn’t a treatment for sleep problems. If you take any regular medicines, check with your GP or pharmacist first.
The FSA’s 10mg a day figure is precautionary advice rather than a legal limit, set while longer-term safety research continues. At Evopure we think it is a very cautious figure, and many adults use more. If you go above it, increase slowly, and check with your GP or pharmacist first if you take any medication.
All three are vegan and made in the UK, for adults (18+) only. We don’t recommend our products during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Home Bargains magnesium for sleep
The only Home Bargains magnesium product sold with sleep in its name is the Anovia Sleep Spray, for the skin. None of the capsules or tablets are sold as sleep products, and no health claim linking magnesium to sleep is authorised in the UK.
The sleep trials so far are small. A 2021 review of three trials in 151 older adults rated the evidence low to very low quality, and a 2025 trial of 250mg of magnesium bisglycinate a day in 155 adults with poor sleep found a small effect on insomnia scores.

How much a day, and who should check first
The NHS says adults aged 19 to 64 need 300mg of magnesium a day (men) or 270mg a day (women), most of which you should get from food. It adds that 400mg or less a day from supplements is unlikely to cause any harm, and that more than 400mg for a short time can cause diarrhoea.
Add up everything you take. The 5in1 complex (400mg) and the Revitalise tablet (375mg) together would be 775mg, nearly double that. The 5in1 label says to consult a doctor first if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, taking medication or under medical supervision. The Revitalise tablet is labelled for children over 12; ask a GP or pharmacist before giving any supplement to a child (ours are for adults only), and see magnesium for kids.
