Twinings menopause tea is Superblends Menopause Cool Moments, a caffeine-free, peach-flavoured herbal infusion. When we checked Twinings’ UK website in October 2026, it listed lemon balm (38%), sage (17%), honeybush (17%), apple, dandelion root and added vitamin B6. No study has tested the tea itself, and NICE guidance says to offer HRT for hot flushes.

Facts below come from Twinings’ own UK pages. This isn’t a review, and Evopure isn’t connected with Twinings. See also supplements for menopause ranked by evidence.

What’s in Twinings menopause tea?

Each box holds 20 envelopes and weighs 40g, so a bag is about 2g. By our maths that is roughly 760mg of lemon balm and 340mg each of sage and honeybush per cup. There is no red clover, black cohosh or soya in it.

  • Full ingredients: lemon balm (38%), sage (17%), honeybush leaves (17%), apple pieces, natural peach flavouring (9%), dandelion root, vitamin B6.
  • Vitamin B6: 0.42mg per 200ml cup (30% of the reference intake). Twinings’ wording says B6 “contributes to the regulation of hormonal activity” and suggests 3 cups a day.
  • Labels: vegan, sugar free and naturally caffeine free, about 4 kcal a cup. Twinings says its teas contain none of the 14 declarable allergens.
  • Who made it: Twinings says it worked with herbalist Pamela Spence. The Menopause Charity’s logo and a QR code to its resources appear on packs. The charity says: “We’re certainly not saying herbal infusions will ‘cure’ your menopause.”

Sister blend Superblends Balance has lemon balm, lemon verbena and the same B6, but no sage.

Does Twinings menopause tea work?

No trial has tested Cool Moments. Research on its herbs is small and mostly used tablets or capsules:

Ingredient Per bag (our estimate) What the evidence says Caution
Sage About 340mg A 2023 review of 4 small trials (310 women) found possibly fewer flushes, but the result was uncertain Not in pregnancy or under 18 (EMA)
Lemon balm About 760mg One trial in 60 women used a lemon balm and fennel capsule, not tea Over 12s only (EMA)
Honeybush About 340mg No human menopause trials found Little data
Dandelion root Not stated No menopause trials found Daisy family allergy
Vitamin B6 0.42mg per cup Most people get enough from food (NHS) Max 10mg a day from supplements

The strongest result came from a 4-week trial in 80 women, where fresh-sage tablets lowered hot flush scores more than placebo. The EMA lists sage tea as a traditional herbal medicine for excessive sweating at 2g of leaf per cup, and a Cool Moments bag holds about a sixth of that. So a cup may help a little, but it isn’t a treatment.

For hot flushes and night sweats, NICE says to offer HRT and to consider menopause-specific CBT. The NHS says herbal remedies such as red clover and black cohosh have very little evidence. If you want more than a tea: our options

Evopure doesn’t make a menopause tea, and none of our products treat menopause symptoms. These fit a daily routine:

The FSA’s 10mg a day figure is precautionary advice rather than a legal limit, set while longer-term safety research continues. At Evopure we think it is a very cautious figure, and many adults use more. If you go above it, increase slowly, and check with your GP or pharmacist first if you take any medication.

Our products are for adults (18+) only. We don’t recommend our products during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

How to drink it: hot or iced

Twinings says to infuse one bag in freshly boiled water for at least 3 minutes, and that it can be enjoyed hot or cooled. Its recipes include an iced tea topped with sparkling water and frozen tea ice cubes. The NHS lists hot drinks as a possible flush trigger and suggests a cold drink, so iced may suit you better.

Side effects and who should check first

  • Medicines, including HRT: Twinings’ pages don’t mention HRT, and no study has tested the tea alongside it. The NHS warns some herbal remedies can interact with medicines, so ask your pharmacist.
  • Hormone-sensitive conditions: sage showed oestrogen-like activity in a rat study. If you’ve had breast cancer or another hormone-sensitive condition, ask your specialist team first.
  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding: you can still conceive in perimenopause. The EMA doesn’t recommend sage in pregnancy or breastfeeding, and Twinings’ pages give no pregnancy advice.
  • Sage oil: the EMA links large amounts of sage oil to seizures. Never swallow sage essential oil.
  • Allergy: dandelion is in the daisy family.
