Healthy Metal is a UK magnesium drink mix: single sachets of magnesium bisglycinate with citric acid, natural flavouring and stevia, stirred into 250ml of hot or cold water. Its label gives 250mg per sachet (67% of the reference intake), which fits 250mg of magnesium itself. We checked in October 2026.

Facts come from Healthy Metal’s website and the UK retailer Healf, checked 27 October 2026. This is not a review, and Evopure isn’t connected with Healthy Metal. Searched for a “heavy metal magnesium drink”? This is probably it.

What’s in Healthy Metal magnesium?

Healthy Metal’s one main product is its Magnesium Glycinate Drink Mix. The label facts, as published on its website:

Label item What it says
Serving 1 sachet (4g), 30 per box
Magnesium 250mg, 67% NRV
Ingredients Citric acid, magnesium bisglycinate, natural flavouring, steviol glycosides (stevia)
Calories and sugar 0 calories, zero sugar
Flavours Raspberry Lemon; Mango Pineapple (limited edition)
Other Vegan, made in the UK, third-party tested

There are no electrolytes or herbs, and caffeine isn’t listed. Mix one sachet with 250ml of hot or cold water. The brand suggests one each night as part of a wind-down routine; Healf’s listing says any time of day. For timing in general, see the best time to take magnesium.

Despite the name, it isn’t sold as a heavy-metal detox. Magnesium is a light metal, about a third less dense than aluminium, and the ingredients are simply magnesium, flavour and sweetener.

How much magnesium is in Healthy Metal?

Healthy Metal’s website describes the sachet as “250 mg elemental magnesium (from magnesium glycinate)”. Its nutrition panel lists “Magnesium Glycinate 250mg (67%)”, and its FAQ and Healf say “250mg of magnesium glycinate”. Those wordings mean different amounts, so the label maths matters:

  • The UK reference intake (NRV) for magnesium is 375mg. 67% of that is 250mg of magnesium itself, so the percentage fits the “elemental” reading.
  • Pure magnesium bisglycinate is only about 14% magnesium by weight. If 250mg were the compound weight, a sachet would give about 35mg of magnesium.

Read the NRV percentage on your pack: it always refers to magnesium itself. Our guides to magnesium glycinate and magnesium glycinate powders explain the sums.

The NHS says adults need 300mg (men) or 270mg (women) of magnesium a day, mostly from food. It says 400mg or less a day from supplements is unlikely to cause harm. The label adds “Increase to 2 sachets for further benefits”, which would be 500mg on the elemental reading, so count any other magnesium you take. See how much magnesium per day.

Where Evopure fits

If you like the idea of an evening drink, these are ours. They’re different products, not like-for-like swaps:

  • Magnesium Glycinate Sleep Complex: a berry-flavoured drink powder with magnesium bisglycinate and citrate (148mg of magnesium per serving), glycine, L-theanine, chamomile, passionflower, hops and oat straw. Magnesium contributes to a reduction of tiredness and fatigue.
  • Reishi Mushroom Adaptogenic Complex: a reishi hot chocolate with reishi mushroom extract, organic cacao and maca. It contains a little natural caffeine.
  • Sleep CBD Oil: broad spectrum CBD with 0% THC, plus passion flower extract and a night-time terpene blend. CBD isn’t a treatment for sleep problems.

The FSA’s 10mg a day figure is precautionary advice rather than a legal limit, set while longer-term safety research continues. At Evopure we think it is a very cautious figure, and many adults use more. If you go above it, increase slowly, and check with your GP or pharmacist first if you take any medication.

All three are vegan and made in the UK, for adults (18+) only. We don’t recommend our products during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Is Healthy Metal magnesium any good? What to check

We haven’t tested it, so we won’t rate it. For any magnesium drink, check:

  1. Magnesium per serving: the elemental figure and NRV percentage, not the compound weight.
  2. The form: bisglycinate, citrate or a mix. See glycinate vs citrate vs threonate.
  3. Everything else: sweeteners, sugar, caffeine, herbs or electrolytes.
  4. Your total: all supplements against the 400mg line.

Magnesium contributes to normal psychological function, but no sleep claim for it is authorised in the UK. Sleep research is modest: a 2021 review of three small trials rated the evidence low quality, and a 2025 bisglycinate trial in 155 adults found a small effect. Healthy Metal magnesium and alcohol

Healthy Metal’s pages don’t mention alcohol interactions, and its site presents the drink as an evening alternative to alcohol. Two general facts: Alcohol can help you drop off but tends to disturb sleep in the second half of the night. And regular heavy drinking is linked with magnesium loss, as alcohol raises the amount passed in urine.

A magnesium drink isn’t a hangover cure. If you’re cutting back, see alcohol and sleep.

Side effects, pregnancy and children

The NHS says taking more than 400mg of magnesium for a short time can cause diarrhoea. Healthy Metal’s FAQ asks anyone with a health condition, or who is pregnant or nursing, to check with a healthcare provider first; Healf’s listing adds medication. See magnesium in pregnancy.

The label says half a sachet is suitable for children over 10. Ask a GP or pharmacist before giving any supplement to a child. All Evopure products are for adults only.
