Novomins’ UK website lists four adult magnesium gummies and one for children. The standard and sugar-free Magnesium Gummies give 180mg of magnesium from two gummies, as magnesium citrate. The Magnesium Glycinate Gummies give 147mg from glycinate and citrate, the Zinc, Magnesium and B6 gummies 100mg, and the Kids gummy 60mg.

Novomins says to chew two gummies a day (one for the Kids gummy), with or without food, at any time of day. Each pack is a month’s supply (30 servings). All five are described as vegan, halal, gluten-free and gelatine-free, and Novomins says its products are made in the UK. Novomins gummies also sit on the magnesium shelves we checked at Boots, Holland and Barrett and Superdrug.
How much magnesium you actually get
Novomins’ pages lead with big numbers: 1,636mg, 1,050mg and 546mg. Those are the weight of the magnesium compound, the magnesium plus what it is bound to. The figure that counts is the elemental magnesium, and Novomins prints both:
- Magnesium Gummies and Sugar-Free: 1,636mg of magnesium citrate gives 180mg of magnesium, 48% of the nutrient reference value (NRV). That is 90mg per gummy.
- Glycinate Gummies: 1,050mg of compounds gives 147mg of magnesium, 39% of the NRV.
- Kids Magnesium: 546mg of magnesium citrate gives 60mg, 16% of the NRV.
The NHS says adults need 300mg (men) or 270mg (women) a day, mostly from food. Two standard gummies give 60% of a man’s figure and two thirds of a woman’s. For comparison, Bioglan’s glycinate gummies give 100mg per two gummies. Gummies often carry less magnesium than tablets, because it has to fit inside a sweet. Novomins magnesium glycinate gummies: what’s inside
These are a blend, not glycinate alone. Each two-gummy serving has 450mg of magnesium glycinate and 600mg of magnesium citrate, so more of the compound weight is citrate. Novomins adds:
- Glycine 30mg and chamomile extract 40mg
- Ashwagandha extract 10mg (10:1) and lemon balm extract 10mg (20:1)
- Vitamin B12 1.25µg (50% NRV) and iodine 150µg (100% NRV)

Where Evopure fits

The FSA’s 10mg a day figure is precautionary advice rather than a legal limit, set while longer-term safety research continues. Are Novomins magnesium gummies good for sleep?
No sleep claim for magnesium is authorised in the UK, and the research is modest. A 2021 review of three trials in 151 older adults found people fell asleep about 17 minutes faster than with placebo, but rated the evidence low quality. A 2025 trial in 155 adults with poor sleep, using 250mg of magnesium as bisglycinate, found a small improvement at four weeks. See magnesium for sleep and the best time to take magnesium.
Side effects, and the Kids gummies
The NHS says 400mg or less a day of magnesium from supplements is unlikely to cause harm, and more than 400mg for a short time can cause diarrhoea. Count every product you take. The sugar-free, glycinate and zinc gummies contain polyols (maltitol, isomalt), and UK rules say foods with more than 10% added polyols must warn that “excessive consumption may produce laxative effects”. The Kids Magnesium Gummies are made for children, with 60mg of magnesium in one gummy a day. Novomins’ product page didn’t state an age range when we checked.
