Tesco’s own brand sells one magnesium supplement: Tesco Health Magnesium and Vitamin B6 Tablets 375mg. When we checked in October 2026, one tablet gave 375mg of magnesium from magnesium oxide, plus 1.4mg of vitamin B6. Tesco has no own-brand glycinate, citrate or gummies, but other brands sell them on tesco.com.

What magnesium does Tesco sell under its own brand?
Two Tesco Health multivitamins are worth knowing about too, because one contains magnesium and one doesn’t:

All three are one tablet a day. The magnesium tablets are labelled suitable for vegans; the two multivitamins say vegetarian.
Label maths: what the 375mg means
A label can give the weight of the whole magnesium compound or the elemental magnesium, the magnesium itself, which is what counts. Tesco’s figure is the useful one: its nutrition table lists 375mg of magnesium per tablet, 100% of the reference intake (RI). Magnesium is about 60% of the weight of magnesium oxide, so each tablet holds roughly 620mg of the oxide compound (our sum; Tesco doesn’t give it).
Other listings often name the compound instead. Glycinate capsules called “1040mg” or “1500mg” give far less magnesium, because glycine is heavy. One Nutravita listing spells it out: 200mg of elemental magnesium, 90mg from bisglycinate and 110mg from oxide. Always check the nutrition table, not the name. Oxide packs a lot of magnesium into a tablet, but a small US study measured only about 4% absorbed, and a UK trial found citrate raised blood magnesium more than oxide. More in magnesium oxide and magnesium citrate.
Where Evopure fits

The FSA’s 10mg a day figure is precautionary advice rather than a legal limit, set while longer-term safety research continues. At Evopure we think it is a very cautious figure, and many adults use more. If you go above it, increase slowly, and check with your GP or pharmacist first if you take any medication.
All three are vegan and made in the UK, for adults (18+) only. We don’t recommend our products during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Does Tesco sell magnesium glycinate?
Not under its own brand when we checked. Tesco itself listed Free Soul 4-in-1 Magnesium Glycinate and Turmeric capsules. Most single glycinate capsules on tesco.com were Tesco Marketplace items, sold and sent by other sellers rather than Tesco, from names such as New Leaf, Nutravita, Mag365, One Nutrition, PharmaZen and Dietapplements. These come by courier, not from stores.

Tesco magnesium for sleep
Tesco’s tablets aren’t marketed for sleep: the page’s claims cover tiredness, the nervous system, muscles and psychological function, plus vitamin B6. No magnesium sleep claim is authorised in the UK.
The research is modest. A 2021 review of three small trials in older adults found people fell asleep about 17 minutes faster than with placebo, on low-quality evidence. A 2025 trial in 155 adults with poor sleep found a small benefit from 250mg of magnesium bisglycinate. How much a day, and who should check first
The NHS says adults need 300mg (men) or 270mg (women) of magnesium a day, and that 400mg or less a day from supplements is unlikely to cause harm. Higher doses can cause diarrhoea. The 375mg tablet plus the 50+ multivitamin adds 475mg, so add up everything you take. More in how much magnesium per day.
