Vitabiotics sells one dedicated ashwagandha supplement, Ultra Ashwagandha. When we checked vitabiotics.com in October 2026, each one-a-day tablet gave 600mg of ashwagandha root extract, providing 42mg of withanolides, plus 2.6mg of vitamin B6. The page doesn’t name KSM-66 or any other branded extract.

These are facts from Vitabiotics’ own pages and official UK sources, not a review. Evopure isn’t connected with Vitabiotics.

What’s in Vitabiotics Ultra Ashwagandha?

What the Vitabiotics product page showed on 26 October 2026:

On the label Ultra Ashwagandha
Extract 600mg ashwagandha root extract per tablet
“Equivalent to” 6,000mg whole ashwagandha
Withanolides 42mg per tablet (7%, our sum)
Vitamin B6 2.6mg (186% NRV)
Directions 1 tablet a day, any time, with water or a cold drink
Pack 30 tablets, one month
Suitable for Vegans; no yeast, preservatives or artificial colours

Full ingredients: ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) root extract, bulking agents (dibasic calcium phosphate and microcrystalline cellulose), a tablet coating (hydroxypropylmethylcellulose, glycerin, calcium carbonate and copper chlorophyllin), anti-caking agents, crosslinked cellulose gum, polyvinylpolypyrrolidone and vitamin B6. It is made in a site that may handle nuts.

The vitamin B6 brings authorised claims: the page says it contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue and to normal psychological function. Ashwagandha itself has no authorised health claims in the UK. More in our vitamin B6 guide.

Smaller amounts appear elsewhere: Wellwoman Perimenopause lists 25mg of ashwagandha root extract (equivalent to 250mg) among its 25 nutrients.

Is Vitabiotics ashwagandha KSM-66?

The page doesn’t say. It describes a “premium root extract” but names no branded extract, such as KSM-66, Sensoril or Shoden, and gives no extract ratio. What it does give is the withanolide content, the compounds researchers usually measure: 42mg in a 600mg tablet works out at 7%.

You can only match a product to a trial if the label gives the same extract and amount:

  • A 60-day trial in 64 adults with chronic stress used 300mg of a full-spectrum root extract twice a day (600mg in total).
  • A 2022 meta-analysis of 12 trials (1,002 people) found the stress results clustered around 300 to 600mg a day, and rated the certainty of the evidence as low.

Is there a Vitabiotics ashwagandha 1000mg? We didn’t find one. The “6,000mg” figure describes the dried root that went into the extract, not a stronger dose. Our guide to how much ashwagandha per day compares doses by extract type, and when to take ashwagandha covers timing. See what we found at Holland and Barrett and Home Bargains too.

Where Evopure fits

We sell online, direct from our own website. If you’re interested in ashwagandha, here is what we make:

  • Flow CBD Oil: broad spectrum CBD with ashwagandha and maca in MCT oil, in 500mg and 1,000mg 10ml bottles. Read more in CBD and ashwagandha.
  • Magnesium Glycinate Sleep Complex: a berry drink powder with magnesium bisglycinate and citrate (148mg of magnesium per serving), glycine, L-theanine, chamomile, passionflower, hops and oat straw. Magnesium contributes to a reduction of tiredness and fatigue.
  • Reishi Mushroom Adaptogenic Complex: a reishi hot chocolate with reishi mushroom extract, organic cacao, maca, coconut milk powder and coconut sugar. It contains a little natural caffeine.

The FSA’s 10mg a day figure is precautionary advice rather than a legal limit, set while longer-term safety research continues. At Evopure we think it is a very cautious figure, and many adults use more. If you go above it, increase slowly, and check with your GP or pharmacist first if you take any medication.

Our products are for adults (18+) only. We don’t recommend our products during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Is ashwagandha safe? The UK position

Ashwagandha is legal as a food supplement in the UK in October 2026, but its safety is under review:

  • FSA. The Food Standards Agency ran a call for evidence in 2024 and published a summary of the 19 responses in June 2026. A risk assessment will follow, with the outcome published.
  • Committee on Toxicity (COT). Independent experts discussed a third draft statement on ashwagandha in September 2026. It is still confidential.
  • Advice meanwhile. The FSA told Which? in June 2026 that it would advise people with pre-existing liver conditions and pregnant women to avoid ashwagandha supplements.
  • Denmark banned ashwagandha in food supplements in 2023.

The Vitabiotics label says Ultra Ashwagandha is not suitable during pregnancy and breastfeeding, for children, or for people with an overactive thyroid or autoimmune diseases (see overactive thyroid symptoms). It asks you to check with your doctor or pharmacist first if you are under medical supervision, have epilepsy or have food allergies.

The US NCCIH adds that liver injury is rare but has been reported, that ashwagandha may interact with diabetes, blood pressure, thyroid, sedative and immune-suppressing medicines, and that long-term safety is unknown. In one published case series, five people developed jaundice 2 to 12 weeks after starting it. Stop and see a doctor if you notice yellowing skin or eyes. Milder side effects include drowsiness and stomach upset: see ashwagandha side effects and our UK safety review.
