Our Evolabs Mint CBD Oil combines broad spectrum CBD with vitamin D3 from algae, so it’s suitable for vegans. Vitamin D contributes to the normal function of the immune system and the maintenance of normal bones and muscles, and the NHS advises everyone in the UK to consider 10 micrograms a day in autumn and winter.
Below: why vitamin D matters in the UK, why we chose algae-based D3, and how the mint oil fits a daily routine.
Why vitamin D matters in the UK
Your skin makes vitamin D from sunlight, but from October to March the sun in the UK isn’t strong enough. That’s why the NHS advises everyone to consider a daily 10 microgram supplement in autumn and winter, and some groups all year round. Vitamin D contributes to the normal function of the immune system, normal muscle function, and the maintenance of normal bones and teeth. See vitamin D in winter and magnesium and vitamin D together.

We chose algae-based D3 so the whole Evopure range stays vegan. See is CBD oil vegan?
Why combine it with CBD?
It’s a practical choice: vitamin D and CBD both dissolve in fat, so they sit well together in MCT oil, and combining them means one daily habit instead of two. There’s no evidence that CBD and vitamin D enhance each other’s effects. The mint flavour makes the drops easy to take. See how to take CBD oil.
The FSA’s 10mg a day figure for CBD is precautionary advice rather than a legal limit, set while longer-term safety research continues. At Evopure we think it is a very cautious figure, and many adults use more. If you go above it, increase slowly, and check with your GP or pharmacist first if you take any medication.
How much vitamin D is too much?
The NHS says adults shouldn’t take more than 100 micrograms of vitamin D a day. If you already take a vitamin D supplement or a multivitamin, add up your total. Some people, such as those with kidney conditions or taking certain medicines, should check with their GP. We don’t recommend our products during pregnancy or breastfeeding; the NHS advises pregnant women to take vitamin D separately.
