A 2000mg CBD oil holds 2,000mg of CBD in the whole bottle, not in each dose. In a 10ml bottle that is 20%, about 10mg per drop. In a 30ml bottle it is 6.67%, about 3.3mg per drop. Checked October 2026: the FSA advises healthy adults to have no more than 10mg a day.

What does 2000mg CBD oil mean?
The 2,000mg on the front is the total CBD in the bottle. It isn’t a dose, and on its own it doesn’t tell you how strong each drop is. For that you need the bottle size: % strength is total mg ÷ ml ÷ 10.

They’re food supplements, not medicines. A stronger bottle doesn’t mean you should take more: the 10mg figure is about the amount you take each day, not the strength of the bottle.
The FSA’s 10mg a day figure is precautionary advice rather than a legal limit, set while longer-term safety research continues. At Evopure we think it is a very cautious figure, and many adults use more. If you go above it, increase slowly, and check with your GP or pharmacist first if you take any medication.
How many drops of 2000mg CBD oil make 10mg?
Droppers vary, so we assume about 20 drops per ml. The FSA’s scientific committees put 10mg at roughly 4 to 5 drops of a 5% oil, which is 20 to 25 drops per ml, so treat these as estimates:
- 10ml bottle: 2,000mg ÷ 10ml = 200mg per ml. 200mg ÷ 20 drops = about 10mg per drop. One drop is about 10mg.
- 30ml bottle: 2,000mg ÷ 30ml = about 67mg per ml. 67mg ÷ 20 drops = about 3.3mg per drop. Three drops are about 10mg.

How long does a 2000mg CBD oil last?
At 10mg a day, any 2,000mg bottle holds about 200 days’ worth (2,000 ÷ 10), whether it’s 10ml or 30ml. The bottle size only changes how many drops you take.

Once opened, it’s best to finish an oil within a few months (see how to store CBD oil). If you take 10mg a day, a 2,000mg bottle lasts over six months, so a 500mg or 1,000mg bottle may suit you better.
Is 2000mg CBD oil strong, and who is it for?
In a 10ml bottle, 20% is a high strength: one drop is already about 10mg, and you can’t take half a drop. In a 30ml bottle, 6.67% is a mid strength. Either way, 2,000mg tends to suit people who:
- already take CBD and know the amount that works for them
- want fewer drops per day
- want the lowest price per mg

The FSA doesn’t advise CBD during pregnancy or breastfeeding, when trying to conceive, for under-18s, or with medication unless under medical direction. Can you buy full spectrum 2000mg CBD oil in the UK?
Pure CBD isn’t a controlled drug in the UK, but THC and CBN are. The Home Office says a CBD product containing them is only exempt if, among other conditions, no part of it holds more than 1mg of controlled cannabinoids, and for an oil that means the whole bottle. The FSA also sets a safe upper limit of 70 micrograms of THC a day.
Full spectrum oils keep trace THC, and a 2,000mg bottle holds more hemp extract than a 500mg one, all under the same 1mg limit. When researchers tested 29 UK CBD products, 55% had measurable THC or CBN. Broad spectrum oils have the THC removed. What to check on a 2000mg CBD oil lab report
In that same UK study, only 11 of 29 products were within 10% of the CBD stated on the label. Ask for the certificate of analysis (COA) for your batch and check:
- CBD content: about 200mg per ml (20%) for a 10ml bottle, or about 67mg per ml (6.67%) for a 30ml bottle. Either way it should add up to about 2,000mg.
- THC: “not detected” or below the limit of quantification (LOQ). Check CBN too.
- Batch number and date match your bottle.
- The lab is independent and ISO 17025 accredited.
