CBD pouches are small sachets of CBD that you tuck between your top lip and gum, like a nicotine pouch or snus, but without the nicotine. In the UK they are legal to sell only if they are on the FSA’s CBD public list. We found 15 listed pouch products, holding 10mg or 20mg a pouch where stated.
What are CBD pouches and how do they work?
A CBD pouch is a little sachet, often of coconut or plant fibre, holding CBD and flavouring. It sits under your top lip while the CBD and flavour seep out, then you bin it.
Sellers say the CBD is absorbed through your gums. Some may be, but researchers studying a cannabinoid mouth spray argued that much of it is washed down with saliva and absorbed in the gut. So expect a pouch to behave more like an oil than a vape, with blood levels peaking within about 0 to 4 hours in studies of CBD taken by mouth. See CBD bioavailability.
CBD pouches shouldn’t contain nicotine, and none on the FSA list mentions it. But nicotine and caffeine “energy” pouches look almost identical and share shelves, so read the can.
Are CBD pouches legal in the UK?
Yes, if they are on the list. CBD is a novel food, so a pouch can only be sold if it is on the FSA’s public list and not marked “Removed”. See is CBD legal in the UK and the FSA’s first CBD approvals.
When we searched the FSA register on 26 October 2026, we found 15 oral CBD pouch products from three brands, all with “Validated” status:
| Brand (FSA list) | Pouch products | CBD per pouch |
|---|---|---|
| Canndid | 8 flavours, 20 pouches | Not stated |
| VIO | 4 flavours, 20 pouches | 20mg |
| Cannadips | 3 flavours, 15 pouches | 10mg |
None was “Removed” or “Awaiting evidence”. Evopure isn’t connected with these brands, and this isn’t a review.
THC rules apply too: no more than 1mg of THC or other controlled cannabinoids in the whole container (Home Office), and a safe upper limit of 70 micrograms of THC a day from food (FSA). See CBD and drug tests.
Nicotine pouches sit under different law. From 29 October 2026, the Tobacco and Vapes Act 2026 makes it an offence to sell any nicotine product, including pouches, to anyone under 18.
Are CBD pouches safe?
- Dose: the FSA advises healthy adults to have no more than 10mg of CBD a day. One 20mg pouch is double that, so count every pouch. See our CBD dosage guide.
- Gums: no studies cover CBD pouches. A 2024 case series found white patches where five nicotine pouch users placed their pouches, though a 2026 study of 42 users found no link between how much they used and how severe patches were. Swap sides, and see a dentist if a sore patch lasts.
- Medicines: CBD can interact with some medicines. Read can CBD interact with medication and ask your pharmacist first.
- Who should avoid them: the FSA doesn’t recommend CBD for under-18s, people taking medication or anyone pregnant or breastfeeding. We don’t recommend our products during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

How to use CBD pouches
- Check the can for the CBD per pouch and the daily maximum.
- Tuck one pouch between your top lip and gum. Don’t chew or swallow it.
- Leave it in for the time on the label, then bin it.
- Swap sides, and keep cans away from children and pets.
Can CBD pouches help you quit nicotine or dipping?
No. CBD pouches aren’t a quit nicotine product, and no CBD product is licensed for that. To stop smoking, vaping or using nicotine pouches, NHS stop smoking services are free and offer licensed nicotine replacement (patches, gum, lozenges, sprays) and prescription tablets. A pharmacist can help too.
Do CBD pouches work for anxiety, sleep or pain?
No trial has tested CBD pouches for anything, and CBD isn’t a treatment for anxiety, sleep problems or pain. If one of those affects your life, speak to your GP. To choose a CBD product by need, see best CBD oil UK.
CBD pouches vs oil, capsules and gummies
| Format | How you take it | Dose control | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pouch | Under the top lip | Fixed per pouch | Discreet; few UK products |
| Oil | Drops under the tongue | Flexible, drop by drop | Easiest to fine-tune |
| Capsule | Swallowed with water | Fixed per capsule | No taste |
| Gummy | Chewed | Fixed per gummy | Usually contains sugar |

Prefer a dose you can measure?
Evopure doesn’t make CBD pouches. For an exact amount, these are our closest options, all broad spectrum, 0% THC and on the FSA public list:
- Broad Spectrum CBD Oil: CBD in MCT oil, about 2.5mg, 5mg or 10mg a drop in the 500mg, 1,000mg and 2,000mg 10ml bottles. See how to take CBD oil.
- Broad Spectrum CBD Capsules: exactly 10mg or 25mg per vegan capsule. See best CBD capsules UK.
- Flow CBD Oil: CBD with ashwagandha and maca in MCT oil.
The FSA’s 10mg a day figure is precautionary advice rather than a legal limit, set while longer-term safety research continues. At Evopure we think it is a very cautious figure, and many adults use more. If you go above it, increase slowly, and check with your GP or pharmacist first if you take any medication.
All our products are for adults (18+) only.
