Bioglan’s UK website lists three adult magnesium products and a children’s range. Magnesium Glycinate VitaGummies give 100mg of magnesium from two gummies, all as bisglycinate. Active Magnesium Tablets give 375mg from one tablet, mostly as magnesium oxide. There is also a magnesium cream, and three SmartMinds gummies for children aged 6 to 16.
Facts below come from Bioglan’s own UK website, checked on 26 October 2026. Evopure isn’t connected with Bioglan, and we don’t rate or review other brands.
Bioglan’s UK magnesium range

| Active Magnesium Tablets | Oxide, phosphate, bisglycinate, citrate | 375mg (1 tablet) | Adults |

Bioglan’s site doesn’t sell direct: it sends buyers to retailers such as Holland and Barrett and Amazon. People also search for a Bioglan magnesium powder, magnesium with ashwagandha and magnesium with creatine, but none of these came up on Bioglan’s UK site when we checked, so check the pack in front of you. For each form in general, see the types of magnesium.
Bioglan magnesium glycinate: what’s in the gummies
Bioglan describes the VitaGummies as “never buffered with other magnesium forms”. The label backs this up: magnesium bisglycinate is the only magnesium source, and two gummies give 100mg of elemental magnesium, 27% of the nutrient reference value (NRV).
- Label maths: the 100mg is the magnesium itself, not the weight of the bisglycinate compound, so you don’t need to convert it, the same as on Solgar’s labels.
- Other ingredients: sweetened with maltitol, isomalt, erythritol and sucralose, set with pectin, with natural cherry flavour. Sugar free and labelled suitable for vegans.
- Directions: adults (16+) take two gummies a day, at least 30 minutes before bedtime.
Maltitol and isomalt are polyols (sugar alcohols). UK rules say foods with more than 10% added polyols must carry the line “excessive consumption may produce laxative effects”, so stick to the dose on the pack. More on this form in our magnesium glycinate guide.
Bioglan Active Magnesium tablets: four forms, one tablet
Bioglan’s nutrition table splits the 375mg of elemental magnesium (100% NRV) in each tablet by form:
- Magnesium oxide: 250mg (two thirds of the total)
- Magnesium phosphate: 50mg
- Magnesium bisglycinate: 50mg
- Magnesium citrate: 25mg
So the tablet contains some citrate and glycinate, but most of its magnesium comes from magnesium oxide. Bioglan says to take one tablet a day with a cold drink, and the tablets are labelled suitable for vegetarians and vegans. For citrate on its own, see magnesium citrate.
Where Evopure fits
Evopure isn’t connected with Bioglan. Our products are different, not like-for-like swaps:
- Magnesium Glycinate Sleep Complex: a berry drink powder with magnesium bisglycinate and citrate (148mg of magnesium per serving), glycine, L-theanine, chamomile, passionflower, hops and oat straw. Magnesium contributes to a reduction of tiredness and fatigue and to normal psychological function.
- Reishi Mushroom Adaptogenic Complex: a reishi hot chocolate with organic cacao and maca. It contains a little natural caffeine.
- Sleep CBD Oil: broad spectrum CBD with 0% THC, plus passion flower, for an evening routine. CBD isn’t a treatment for sleep problems.
The FSA’s 10mg a day figure is precautionary advice rather than a legal limit, set while longer-term safety research continues. At Evopure we think it is a very cautious figure, and many adults use more. If you go above it, increase slowly, and check with your GP or pharmacist first if you take any medication.
All three are vegan and made in the UK, for adults (18+) only. We don’t recommend our products during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Comparing more brands? Our UK magnesium supplement guide explains what to look for on any label.
Bioglan magnesium for sleep
Bioglan suggests the glycinate gummies as part of a bedtime routine. No sleep claim for magnesium is authorised in the UK, and the research is modest. A 2021 review of three trials in 151 older adults found people fell asleep about 17 minutes faster than with placebo, but rated the evidence low quality. A 2025 trial in 155 adults with poor sleep, using 250mg of magnesium as bisglycinate, found a small improvement at four weeks. See magnesium for sleep and the best time to take magnesium.
Side effects, the cream and the children’s range
The NHS says adults need 300mg (men) or 270mg (women) of magnesium a day, and that 400mg or less a day from supplements is unlikely to cause harm. More than 400mg for a short time can cause diarrhoea. One Active Magnesium tablet plus two glycinate gummies adds up to 475mg, so count every product you take. See magnesium side effects and how much magnesium per day.
- Active Magnesium Cream: magnesium chloride in a cream with menthol, peppermint oil and beeswax. How much magnesium passes through healthy skin is still debated, as our magnesium spray guide explains.
- SmartMinds: made for children aged 6 to 16, with 94mg of magnesium per two gummies plus B vitamins and extras such as lavender extract or L-tyrosine. Speak to a pharmacist or GP before giving a child a supplement, and read our guide to magnesium for kids. Evopure’s products are for adults only.
If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, taking medication or have a medical condition, check with your GP or pharmacist before taking any magnesium supplement.
