VitaBright Magnesium Glycinate gives 300mg of elemental magnesium in a daily serving of two capsules, from 1,500mg of buffered magnesium bisglycinate. That is 80% of the reference value on UK labels. The only other ingredient is a plant-based capsule shell, and VitaBright says to take two capsules a day with food (checked November 2026).

Facts below come from vitabright.co, read on 4 November 2026, plus NHS, Companies House and ASA pages. Evopure isn’t connected with VitaBright, and we don’t rate or review other brands.

What’s in VitaBright Magnesium Glycinate?

The product page lists two ingredients: magnesium bisglycinate buffered (magnesium bisglycinate and magnesium oxide), and a vegetable capsule shell (HPMC). It says the capsules are vegan, free from gluten, dairy and other common allergens, and that VitaBright supplements are made in the UK. A bottle holds 180 capsules, which is 90 servings.

Label detail VitaBright Magnesium Glycinate
Serving 2 capsules a day, with food
Magnesium glycinate 1,500mg per serving (buffered)
Magnesium per serving 300mg (80% NRV)
Forms Bisglycinate with magnesium oxide
Bottle 180 capsules (90 servings)
Suitable for Vegans

“Buffered” means some magnesium oxide is mixed in with the bisglycinate, which raises the magnesium per capsule. The label doesn’t say how much of the 300mg comes from each form. Glycinate and bisglycinate are two names for the same compound: more in magnesium glycinate vs bisglycinate, our guide to magnesium glycinate and magnesium oxide.

The label maths: 300mg against UK needs

  • The 300mg is the magnesium itself. The nutrition panel gives the elemental magnesium for two capsules, so one capsule is about 150mg (our sums).
  • Against UK needs: the NHS says adults need 300mg (men) or 270mg (women) a day, and that most people can get this from a varied diet. Two capsules equal the men’s figure and are about 111% of the women’s (our sums), and stay within the 400mg a day the NHS says is unlikely to cause harm from supplements.
  • Compound vs magnesium: the 1,500mg is the weight of the compound. Pure bisglycinate is only about 14% magnesium, so 1,500mg of it alone would give about 210mg (our sums); the added oxide makes up the rest.
  • Count everything: add the magnesium from any multivitamin or other product you take.

Use how much magnesium per day as your yardstick.

The rest of the VitaBright magnesium range

VitaBright sells three other magnesium products. Amounts are per daily serving, from the product pages:

Product Daily serving Magnesium
Magnesium Citrate 2 capsules (1,480mg buffered citrate) 444mg (118% NRV)
Magnesium Complex 6-in-1 2 to 3 capsules (2,500mg blend in 3) 485mg in 3 capsules
Magnesium Glycinate Complex 8-in-1 2 capsules (eight forms, including oxide) 400mg (107% NRV)

At the full label serving, the citrate (444mg) and the 6-in-1 in three capsules (485mg) are above the 400mg a day the NHS uses as its guide for supplements, and the NHS says more than 400mg in a short time can cause diarrhoea. The 6-in-1 also contains zinc, vitamin B6 and vitamin D3, so count those against any multivitamin. Read more on magnesium citrate, or compare every form in our types of magnesium chart.

Is VitaBright magnesium glycinate good for sleep?

VitaBright markets its glycinate for sleep and suggests taking it one to two hours before bed if that’s why you use it. Under UK rules, magnesium has no authorised health claim for sleep. The authorised claims include that magnesium contributes to a reduction of tiredness and fatigue, to normal psychological function and to normal muscle function. A 2025 trial of 250mg of magnesium a day as bisglycinate found only a small change in sleep scores after four weeks. Our magnesium for sleep guide covers the research, and the best time to take magnesium covers timing.

Where Evopure fits

Evopure isn’t connected with VitaBright. If you’re comparing options, ours takes a different approach, not a like-for-like swap:

  • Magnesium Glycinate Sleep Complex: a berry-flavoured drink powder rather than capsules. Magnesium contributes to a reduction of tiredness and fatigue and to normal psychological function. The full serving is below.
  • Reishi Mushroom Adaptogenic Complex: a reishi hot chocolate with 0.5g reishi, 0.5g maca and 0.3g cinnamon per 8g serving. It contains a little natural caffeine.
  • Sleep CBD Oil: broad spectrum CBD with 0% THC and 70mg passionflower extract per half pipette, for an evening routine. On the 500mg bottle, about 0.2ml gives 10mg of CBD (0.1ml on the 1,000mg).
Magnesium Glycinate Sleep Complex Per 4.75g serving
Magnesium (elemental), 77% NRV 290mg
Magnesium bisglycinate 1,000mg
Magnesium citrate 900mg
Glycine 500mg
Oat straw (Avena sativa) 10:1 extract 300mg
Hops 4:1 extract 200mg
Chamomile 4:1 extract 200mg
Passionflower 4:1 extract 200mg
L-theanine 100mg

290mg of magnesium is within the NHS guide of 400mg a day from supplements. The herbs are listed as ingredients only.

The FSA’s 10mg a day figure is precautionary advice rather than a legal limit, set while longer-term safety research continues. At Evopure we think it is a very cautious figure, and many adults use more. If you go above it, increase slowly, and check with your GP or pharmacist first if you take any medication.

All three are vegan, made in the UK and for adults (18+) only. If you take any regular medicines, check with your GP or pharmacist first. To compare other options, see our UK magnesium supplement guide.

Who should check first

VitaBright’s label advises speaking to a GP before use if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, taking medication, under medical supervision or under 18, and says people with kidney disease shouldn’t take magnesium unless a doctor supervises. It also says to leave 4 hours between magnesium and some antibiotics, bisphosphonates and thyroid medicine. Ask your pharmacist about timing. More in magnesium side effects.

Ask a GP or pharmacist before giving any supplement to a child: see magnesium for kids. We don’t recommend our products during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Our products are for adults (18+) only.

Buying VitaBright and where to read reviews

  • Where: vitabright.co sells one-off orders and subscriptions, and VitaBright magnesium glycinate is also listed by UK shops including Superdrug and Holland and Barrett online.
  • Reviews: the product page shows customer reviews. We don’t quote reviews or give scores.
  • The company: the site footer says VitaBright is the trading name of Vouch Together Limited (company number 07133895), South Croydon. Companies House lists it as active, incorporated in January 2010.
  • ASA: we found no ASA rulings for VitaBright when we searched in November 2026.

Other brands worked through the same way: Cytoplan, Nutrition Geeks, Myvitamins and Heights. For what’s on the shelf in one shop, see Superdrug magnesium.
