Natures Aid sells five magnesium supplements in the UK: Magnesium Glycinate (280mg of magnesium per two capsules), Magnesium Citrate (119mg per capsule, plus vitamin B6), two calcium and magnesium tablets with zinc or vitamin D3 (400mg per two tablets), and a strawberry effervescent tablet (200mg). All are labelled vegan.
We checked each product page on naturesaid.co.uk in October 2026. Evopure isn’t connected with Natures Aid, and we don’t rate or review other brands.
The Natures Aid magnesium range at a glance
The brand writes its name without an apostrophe: Natures Aid, based near Preston, Lancashire. Here is what each label says.
| Product | Magnesium form | Magnesium a day | Dose and pack |
|---|---|---|---|
| Magnesium Glycinate | Bisglycinate | 280mg (75% NRV) | 2 capsules; 90 capsules |
| Magnesium Citrate | Citrate | 119mg per capsule | 1 to 2 capsules; 60 capsules |
| Calcium, Magnesium and Zinc | Oxide and citrate | 400mg (107% NRV) | 2 tablets; 90 tablets |
| Calcium, Magnesium and Vitamin D3 | Oxide and citrate | 400mg (107% NRV) | 2 tablets; 90 tablets |
| Magnesium Effervescent | Carbonate | 200mg (on the tube) | 1 tablet; 20 tablets |
All five say to take them with food or, for the effervescent, dissolved in water. None of them is a gummy: we found no Natures Aid magnesium gummies on its UK site.
Natures Aid Magnesium Glycinate (bisglycinate)
The newest product in the range. Two capsules hold 1,429mg of magnesium bisglycinate, providing 280mg of magnesium. The only other ingredients are the cellulose capsule shell and anticaking agents. It is labelled suitable for vegans and “18+ Not suitable for children”.
Natures Aid doesn’t sell it as a sleep product, and no magnesium sleep claim is authorised in the UK. The research is modest: a 2025 trial in 155 adults with poor sleep found a small benefit from 250mg of magnesium bisglycinate a day. More in our magnesium glycinate guide and magnesium for sleep.
Natures Aid Magnesium Citrate: what “119mg elemental” means
Labels can give the weight of the whole compound or the elemental magnesium, the magnesium itself, which is the figure that counts. Natures Aid gives the elemental figure: 119mg per capsule (32% NRV), plus 5mg of vitamin B6. Magnesium is only about a sixth of magnesium citrate’s weight, which is why some shops list the same capsule as “750mg” (our sum). See how much magnesium per day.
A UK trial found citrate raised blood magnesium more than oxide. The label warns that people with kidney disease or severe heart disease, such as high-grade atrioventricular block, should not take magnesium supplements. More in magnesium citrate.
Where Evopure fits
Evopure sells online, direct from our own website. Our products are different, not like-for-like swaps:
- Magnesium Glycinate Sleep Complex: a berry drink powder with magnesium bisglycinate and citrate (148mg of magnesium per serving), glycine, L-theanine, chamomile, passionflower, hops and oat straw. Magnesium contributes to a reduction of tiredness and fatigue.
- Sleep CBD Oil: broad spectrum CBD with 0% THC, plus passion flower, for an evening routine.
- Reishi Mushroom Adaptogenic Complex: a reishi hot chocolate with organic cacao and maca. It contains a little natural caffeine.
The FSA’s 10mg a day figure is precautionary advice rather than a legal limit, set while longer-term safety research continues. At Evopure we think it is a very cautious figure, and many adults use more. If you go above it, increase slowly, and check with your GP or pharmacist first if you take any medication.
All three are vegan and made in the UK, for adults (18+) only. We don’t recommend our products during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Calcium, Magnesium and Zinc, or with Vitamin D3?
Both tablets give 800mg of calcium and 400mg of magnesium per two tablets, from magnesium oxide and citrate. The zinc version adds 15mg of zinc and 1mg of copper; the D3 version adds 20µg (800 IU) of vitamin D3 instead. Both are labelled vegan, and both say to avoid them with hyperparathyroidism, kidney disease or ulcers unless a GP advises otherwise.
400mg is already the NHS’s level for magnesium from supplements, so don’t stack either with another magnesium product. The NHS also says not to take more than 25mg of zinc or 100µg of vitamin D a day. See magnesium and calcium, magnesium and zinc and magnesium and vitamin D.
The effervescent tablet, and products for children
Magnesium Effervescent is a natural strawberry fizzy tablet made with magnesium carbonate, sorbitol and sucralose; the tube says 200mg. The website gives no nutrition table, so check the pack.
Natures Aid has a children’s range (Mini Drops and Bluey gummies), but none listed magnesium when we checked. Ask a GP or pharmacist before giving any supplement to a child; see magnesium for kids.
For other UK ranges, see Holland and Barrett, Solgar, Boots and Tesco, or our UK magnesium supplement guide.
