Wild Nutrition’s magnesium is Food-Grown Magnesium, not magnesium glycinate. When we checked wildnutrition.com in October 2026, two capsules gave 80mg of magnesium (21% NRV), grown into a Lactobacillus bulgaricus culture with brown rice powder. The directions are two capsules a day, morning or night, with or without food.
These are facts from Wild Nutrition’s own label and the research, not a review. Evopure isn’t connected with Wild Nutrition.
What’s in Wild Nutrition Magnesium?
Wild Nutrition sells one magnesium supplement, in a refillable glass jar or a refill pouch. Here is what the product page showed on 23 October 2026:
| Detail | Per wildnutrition.com |
|---|---|
| Magnesium form | Food-Grown (in a Lactobacillus bulgaricus culture) |
| Magnesium per 2 capsules | 80mg (21% NRV) |
| Per capsule | 40mg (our sum) |
| Other ingredients | Brown rice powder; HPMC capsule shell |
| Directions | 2 capsules a day, morning or night |
| Pack | 60 capsules, 30 days |
| Suitable for | Vegetarians; kosher |
Label maths. The 80mg is the magnesium itself (elemental magnesium), not the weight of a compound, so there is nothing to convert. That differs from labels such as “375mg bisglycinate”, where the magnesium can be far lower, as our Holland and Barrett magnesium guide shows. 80mg is about 27% of the NHS 300mg a day for men and 30% of the 270mg for women.
Wild Nutrition says the culture gives “14 complementary magnesium compounds”. Its label uses authorised claims, such as magnesium contributing to a reduction of tiredness and fatigue.
Is Wild Nutrition magnesium glycinate?
No. Glycinate (or bisglycinate) is magnesium bound to the amino acid glycine, and neither appears in the ingredients. If you want glycinate specifically, read our magnesium glycinate guide and compare elemental mg on the label.
The same capsules come in Wild Nutrition’s duos, such as with KSM-66 ashwagandha (Night Time Duo) or omega 3 (Healthy Heart Duo). We found no glycinate or children’s magnesium on its site. Holland and Barrett also stocks the 60-capsule pack.
Where Evopure fits
If you’d like magnesium glycinate in a powder for an evening routine, our Magnesium Glycinate Sleep Complex has magnesium bisglycinate and citrate (148mg of magnesium per serving), glycine and L-theanine. Magnesium contributes to a reduction of tiredness and fatigue. Our reishi hot chocolate makes a warm evening mug and contains a little natural caffeine from the cacao. Our Sleep CBD Oil pairs broad spectrum CBD with passion flower; CBD isn’t a treatment for sleep problems.
The FSA’s 10mg a day figure is precautionary advice rather than a legal limit, set while longer-term safety research continues. At Evopure we think it is a very cautious figure, and many adults use more. If you go above it, increase slowly, and check with your GP or pharmacist first if you take any medication.
All three are vegan and made in the UK, for adults (18+) only. We don’t recommend our products during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Is Wild Nutrition magnesium good for sleep?
Wild Nutrition markets it for sleep and cites a 2024 placebo-controlled study of the product (Briskey and colleagues, Food and Nutrition Sciences). The trial registration shows 84 healthy adults took two capsules (80mg) or a placebo an hour before bed for 8 weeks, with sleep rated in morning diaries. It was run by RDC Clinical, an Australian research company, and we found no independent repeat.
Across magnesium in general, the evidence is modest:
- A 2021 review of three trials in 151 older adults found people fell asleep about 17 minutes faster than with placebo, on low to very low quality evidence.
- A 2025 trial in 155 adults with poor sleep found 250mg of magnesium as bisglycinate improved insomnia scores slightly more than placebo; the effect was small.
No sleep claim for magnesium is authorised in the UK. See magnesium for sleep, and speak to your GP if poor sleep lasts for weeks.
How to take it, and side effects
How and when: two capsules a day, morning or night, with or without food. Don’t exceed that. Wild Nutrition advises taking supplements at least 2 hours after any medication. More in the best time to take magnesium.
Side effects: the label lists none. With magnesium generally, loose stools are the most common, and the NHS says taking more than 400mg for a short time can cause diarrhoea. 80mg is well below that, but add up any multivitamin or drink; see how much magnesium per day and magnesium side effects. If you have kidney disease, ask your GP first.
Pregnancy and children: the label says to consult your doctor if pregnant, breastfeeding, on medication or under medical supervision, while Wild Nutrition’s FAQ says it can be used in pregnancy. Speak to your midwife or GP. For a child, ask your GP or pharmacist; see magnesium for kids.
