In its purest form — CBD extract in a plant-based carrier oil — CBD oil is vegan. The carrier oil determines whether the finished product remains vegan-friendly:
- MCT oil (derived from coconuts) — 100% vegan and the most common carrier for premium CBD oils
- Hemp seed oil — naturally vegan and nutrient-rich
- Non-vegan alternatives — some products use beeswax or animal-derived glycerin; always check the full ingredient list

CBD gummies
Many gummies use bovine gelatine as a setting agent. Choose gummies made with pectin, agar agar or seaweed extract instead — and look for explicit vegan labelling.
